I have to thank you for encouraging me to define my practice a little. I am a pragmatist rather than a system devotee, but I live in the kind of corporate office environment that GTD was designed for.

I have never touched a tickler file, too little utility for me, too much administrative overhead and too static: I change desks a lot.

@stampf Thanks for the input. I generally cannot put things straight into my system – I use Outlook for my tasks so it would require typing and take my attention away from the conversation. I also find it helpful to collect things (often as a mindmap) in a raw associative form and do the processing in a seperate step.

I do find it very useful to do processing in meetings when things are too vague: then you need to clarify who is going to what and when.

I usually don’t even take notes during meetings. If things come up that I need to track, I enter them in my GTD system right away (next action, waiting for, etc.)

Should I need to keep something I wrote during the meeting, it’s probably some Reference material that get filed in the proper folder.

@danae – Gnome stew is one of my favorite blogs too! I have been looking at mouse guard too, also because it has some wonderfully innovative ideas. The Burning Wheel rpg system from the same people is also worth a look.

Although I haven’t played it myself, this brings to mind an article I read over on gnomestew.com mentioning a new rpg called mouse Guard. He specifically mentioned that the structure and rules system would probably work well for teaching/learning the RPG basics. Here’s the link:
